Buehler died on June 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, service, and a lifelong commitment to helping young people succeed.
A proud member of Lebanon Valley College’s Class of 1989, Buehler dedicated much of his professional life to coaching and education. Throughout his career, he earned the admiration of students, athletes, colleagues, and fellow coaches for his integrity, passion, and genuine care for others.
Before returning to his alma mater, Buehler spent 15 seasons coaching high school football in Pennsylvania, serving at Palmyra High School, Cedar Cliff High School, Milton Hershey School, and Lebanon High School. During those years, he became known as a coach who cared deeply about the personal development of his players. He believed football was a vehicle for teaching responsibility, discipline, perseverance, and character.
In 2004, he returned to Lebanon Valley College and became an integral part of the Flying Dutchmen football program. His knowledge of the game, steady leadership, and ability to connect with student-athletes made him a respected figure on campus. When he was named head coach in 2016, he embraced the role with the same dedication and purpose that had defined his entire career.
Former players often recall that Coach Buehler cared as much about the person as he did the athlete. He encouraged his players to strive for excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in life. Many have credited him with shaping not only their football careers but also the people they became.
